About Pritam Singh

Pritam Singh is a politician from the Indian state of Uttarakhand, CLP leader of Uttarakhand and a five term member of the Uttarakhand Legislative Assembly. For the state of Uttarakhand, he has served as Cabinet Minister for Home, Rural Development, Food and Civil Supplies, Panchayati Raj, and Minor Irrigation during his previous stints. Earlier, in undivided Uttar Pradesh, he was elected as a Member of the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly in 1993. Mr. Singh represents the Chakrata Assembly of Uttarakhand and has been continuously winning it for the last five times. A son of the soil, he has been actively participative in the state’s welfare across all sectors. An able leader and a veteran in Uttarakhand politics, Mr. Singh’s contribution in the development of the state has been immense across various fields. He is known to be very approachable and a very calm listener. A go-getter, he believes in solving problems instantly rather than wait for them to pile up.



Pritam Singh was born on the 4th of November, 1958, in Virnad village in Dehradun district of Uttar Pradesh (now Uttarakhand). He is the eldest son of Shri Gulab Singh who was a member of the Indian National Congress and an eight term Member of the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly. Mr. Pritam Singh is a law graduate and also a member of the Bar Council of Uttarakhand. He is married to Anita Singh and is blessed with a daughter and a son.



Pritam Singh is a member of the Indian National Congress (INC), President, Uttarakhand Pradesh Congress Committee and a five term member of the Uttarakhand Legislative Assembly. For the state of Uttarakhand, he has served as Cabinet Minister for Home, Rural Development, Food and Civil Supplies, Panchayati Raj, and Minor Irrigation during his previous stints. Earlier in undivided Uttar Pradesh, he was also elected as a Member of the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly in 1993. Mr. Singh is the MLA from the Chakrata Assembly of Uttarakhand and has been continuously winning it for the last five times.
